The Network Directory serves as a central location where the Principal Member (PM) can view the complete list of users available on the network. It functions like a "Yellow Pages" for the Network, providing easy access to user information based on the visibility settings defined during onboarding:
- Public (Recommended against all clients): The user is fully visible to everyone on the network, appearing in general searches and listings
- Known Only: The user is partially visible; their profile appears only if the full address is already known by the searcher
- Hidden: The user is completely hidden and does not appear in any search or directory listings, even if the address is known
From the Network Directory, the Principal Member (PM) can initiate asset transfers by clicking the arrow icon next to the user’s entry. This action will automatically populate the “Create a Transfer” form with the correct recipient address. However, it is recommended to always verify the information provided by the system for accuracy.
For detailed instructions on creating a transfer, see here.
Onboarding a client to the network
This section allows you to onboard an underlying client to the network. Once the client is successfully added, their profile will appear in both the Compliance Engine and the Network Directory.
Please note: before completing this process, these steps must have taken place:
- The underlying client must be fully onboarded to io.network by io.finnet
- Have logged into their dashboard, and created their designated vault
- The vault address must then be shared with the PM via the transaction profile questionnaire to be added as the io.network address in Step 2 below.
To onboard a new Underlying Client on io.network, please follow the below process:
- Click "Onboarding User”
-
Fill in the required fields:
- Directory Name: Preferred name
- Legal Name: Official legal name
- Website: UL Client’s website URL (must include the https:// ahead of the website address)
- Image Upload (optional): Upload a logo or image if desired
- Organization ID: This is critical as it identifies the organization within the io system (io.finnet will share the organization ID post-onboarding, if you have not received it or please contact the io.finnet Customer Support team)
- Alias: Enter a preferred alias for the client
- io.network Address: Underlying Client vault address
- Account ID: Enter the PM reference number
- Visibility: Choose one of the following options:
- Public: (Recommended) Fully visible to all users on the network
- Known Only: Visible only if the user already knows the full address
- Hidden: Not visible to any other users on the network
- Click on the “Create Directory Entry” button

- In the “Onboarding” tab, you can see a list of all users added to the network
- Repeat this process for every new user you want to onboard

The final step to allow a user to receive or send assets on the network is to enable their access.
Please follow the steps below:
- Under Network Management, click the "Enable" button
- Then click the "Enable Client" button
- Please Note: Next to this button, you can hover over "Multiple Approvals Required" to view the list of authorized approvers for this request

Please note: ensure you double check the Organisation ID and wallet address when onboarding a client, this can cause issues and make funds go to the wrong client if incorrect.
