We are excited to announce an important update to enhance your transaction experience, now available for io.vault as of January 8th, 2025.

Version 3.22.4 of the io.finnet app is now available on the App Store and Play Store. Please update your app to make use of these feature updates.

• Transaction Expiry Update: We are extending the current transaction expiry window from 10 minutes to 24 hours. This feature is designed to offer you and your team greater flexibility in managing transactions across multiple locations or time zones, by utilizing the background signing feature. 

Please ensure that background signing feature is enable on your signing device. This allows the signing process to continue even if your device is locked or running other applications (further details here).

Highlights of the Transaction Expiry update:

• Increased Flexibility: With the use of the background signing feature, users can sign a transaction anytime across 24 hours without needing to stay active on the platform.
• Improved confidence: Helps users with the knowledge that transactions can be signed without requiring all users to be online simultaneously.

We are excited to share an important update with you! Starting December 4, 2024, io.vault will no longer be exclusive to iOS users—it will now also be available for use on Android devices running version 12 or higher. This update makes io.vault accessible to a broader range of devices, ensuring even greater flexibility for your digital asset management needs.

Why This Update Matters

Previously accessible only on iPhones, io.vault’s expansion to Android devices means:

• Broader Accessibility: Android users with version 12 or higher can now securely access io.vault.
• Mixed Device Compatibility: Signers can now consist of a mix of both Android and Apple devices, providing greater flexibility for team-based approvals. However, as before, all signers must use the latest version of the app to ensure the signature process functions properly.
• Increased Flexibility: Both iOS and Android users can now seamlessly manage digital assets using io.vault.
• Uncompromised Security: All features, including multi-party approval processes and advanced cryptographic safeguards, are available on the Android platform.

Important Notes:

1. Device Compatibility: This update applies to devices running Android 12 or higher. Older Android versions will not support io.vault.
2. App Update Required: Download the latest version of io.vault from the Google Play Store to get started. 
3. Cross-Platform Support: Ensure that all signers—whether on Android or iOS—are using the latest app version to maintain compatibility and ensure proper signature functionality. iOS users should download the latest version of io.vault from the Apple App Store.

We are excited to announce two important feature updates to enhance your transaction experience, now available for io.vault, both on the io.vault Dashboard and App as of November 6th, 2024.

Version 3.7.6 of the io.finnet app is now available on the App Store. Please update your app to make use of these feature updates.

• Transaction Simulation and Validation: allows users to review transaction outcomes before they’re approved or submitted to the blockchain, using BlockAid’s Simulation API. It reduces the risk of signing without full details and automatically scans for any suspicious dApps or addresses, helping you stay secure.

• Address Book: Simplify and secure your transactions by linking network addresses to specific users. The Address Book ensures that you send funds to the correct recipient, reducing the risk of errors and improving efficiency.

These features are designed to offer you greater transparency, security, and ease in managing your crypto transactions.

We are excited to announce two important feature updates now available for io.vault, both on the io.vault Dashboard and App as of October 9th, 2024.

Version 3.0.2 of the io.finnet app is now available on the App Store. Please update your app to make use of these feature updates. All signers must update their app to ensure smooth and reliable operation of the multi-party signing feature. 

Governance Vault: Secure Team Management

Managing user access within a team has never been easier—or more secure—thanks to Governance Vault. This new feature ensures that sensitive user management actions are subjected to a multi-party approval process.

Highlights:

• Multi-Party Approval Process: All user management actions—such as adding and removing users—must undergo review and approval by multiple designated validators. This ensures any changes are rigorously overseen.
• Enhanced Security: By involving multiple trusted team members in the approval process, sensitive changes are fully vetted, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access or mistakes.
• Collaborative Decision-Making: Governance Vault distributes decision-making responsibility across key validators, promoting accountability and reducing errors in user management.
• Permanent Activation: Once enabled, Governance Vault cannot be deactivated, guaranteeing that your approval process remains consistently in place.
• Customizable Approval Threshold: Select an approval threshold that best suits your business needs, ensuring the right level of security and control.

Availability:

Governance Vault is available on the io.vault Dashboard.

Updates to Terms and Conditions: 

In line with this release, we have made minor updates to our Terms and Conditions: 

• New Definitions: A descriptive definition of Admin User(s) and User(s) has been added to the Definitions section.
• Data Migration Window: If you do not agree with any modifications to the Terms and Conditions, you now have 30 days to migrate your data and assets or find alternative services.

Background Signing: Enhanced Signing Flexibility

This feature allows your signing devices to remain connected and active in the background, even when the device is locked or the app is not in the foreground, provided it remains powered on. This ensures signers do not need to coordinate in real time, making the process smoother and more convenient.

Key Benefits:

• No Real-Time Coordination Required: Signers can approve or reject requests at their convenience within the 10-minute signing window, eliminating the need for all parties to be present at the same time.
• Seamless Experience: Once a request is approved, devices continue to participate in the signing process in the background without requiring immediate user interaction.
• Security Maintained: Despite the added convenience, the security of your secret shares remains robust and uncompromised.

Requirements:

• To use Background Signing, you will need to activate location services on your device. This allows the io.vault app to run in the background, even when your device is locked or not actively in use. 
• All signers must be on the latest version, v3.0.2, to ensure smooth and reliable operation of the multi-party signing feature.

TRON chain and Custom Gas Fees are now available

We are thrilled to announce the integration of the TRON chain and custom gas fees into io.vault. These new features offers users additional chain options, while allowing customisation to their gas fees which lets them better manage their transactions costs and priority of transactions while moving assets from io.vault across all of the supported networks. 

What is TRON? TRON, a decentralized blockchain platform known for its high throughput and smart contract capabilities. This integration not only includes TRX tokens but also extends support to TRC-20 assets, specifically USDT on TRON.

Key Benefits of the TRON Integration:

• Enhanced Security: Leveraging io.vault's trustless Multi-Party computation security, users can confidently store and manage their TRX and TRC-20 tokens, including USDT, with peace of mind.

• Seamless Trading: The integration facilitates smooth and efficient trading of TRX and TRC-20 assets, offering users the ability to capitalize on market opportunities quickly.

• Diverse Asset Management: With TRON now available on io.vault, users have access to a more diverse range of digital assets, enhancing their portfolio management options.

What is Custom Gas Fees? The customisation of gas fees for transactions which provides the option for users to pay lower or higher gas fees depending on the priority of the transaction and network state. 

Key Benefits of the Custom Gas Fees:

• Customization allows users to adapt to network and market conditions, choosing higher fees during peak times / lower fees during off-peak times.

• Allows users to plan their transaction strategies more efficiently, optimizing both cost and speed according to their needs.
• Allows users to cancel the transaction/s when it is in submission state (not once it has been complete to the chain).

Please note - The custom gas fee integration only relates to BTC, ETH and ERC-20 Tokens as a phase 1 roll out.

Version 2.30.1 of the io.finnet app is now available on the App Store. Please update your app to make full use of TRON and custom gas fees features.

• Enhancements to the web dashboard (app.iofinnet.com) Navigation Bar aimed at making the user experience smoother and more intuitive. The "Profile" and "Support" pages are now conveniently located under your icon in the top right-hand corner of each page. We've also made it easier to sign out from the same section
• The following known issues for WalletConnect have been resolved:
  • The WalletConnect session may disconnect if a user refreshed or navigates away from the 'Dapps' page
  • Dapp requests do not appear unless the user is on the 'Dapps' page
  • Aave - repay with collateral occasionally fails when using 'SignMessage' approval method

WalletConnect Beta is now available

We are thrilled to announce the integration of Wallet Connect into io.vault. This new feature offers users a seamless and secure way to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) in the Web3 ecosystems across all of the supported networks. 

What is WalletConnect? WalletConnect is a decentralized Web3 messaging layer and a standard for connecting blockchain wallets to dApps. It facilitates secure interactions between wallets and decentralized applications, paving the way for a more integrated and user-friendly Web3 experience.

Key Benefits of WalletConnect Integration:

• Seamless Connectivity: Easily connect your io.finnet wallets (Vaults) to a variety of dApps in the Web3 ecosystem to securely enable:
  • Lending assets for yield
  • Collateralized borrowing
  • Swapping/trading between different assets
  • NFT trading & storage
  • Access to any new or upcoming Web3 products
• Token Swapping: Connect to Web3 DEX interfaces to swap tokens effortlessly.
• Enhanced Security: Maintain the security of your wallet while interacting with dApps, thanks to io.finnet's trustless Multi-Party Computation (tMPC) technology, which keeps your assets securely stored.
• User-Friendly Experience: Enjoy streamlined interactions with decentralized applications while maintaining a secure multi-approval process for compliance with internal policies and controls.

Please note: WalletConnect is currently in a Beta period and we are constantly working to improve the feature. If you would like to participate in the Beta, please review the known issues below and confirm you are comfortable with proceeding.

Aave - repay with collateral occasionally fails when using “SignMessage” approval method.		To Mitigate this issue, switch the approval Method to Transaction instead of “SignMessage”. This will allow you to repay borrowed assets using collateral on Aave.
If the browser is refreshed with Aave on it, it will disconnect the user from WalletConnect.	Fix in progress.	Avoid refreshing your browser tab with Aave on it. If this does occur, please disconnect from Aave and reconnect to WalletConnect.

Virtual Signer

The Virtual Signer allows organizations using io.vault to allocate secret shares to a self-hosted server that will programmatically participate in signing on a 24/7 basis.

• Increase the level of SECURITY: signing material and approval logic is secured in a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) utilizing Intel SGX to protect against both hardware and software attacks
• Improve your operations EFFICIENCY: plugin custom/3rd-party systems. Automate everything, remove any undesired manual processes
• Make your business SCALABLE: API call-back to client systems enables incorporation of any custom business logic directly into the approval and signature flow
• Enjoy a better EXPERIENCE: virtual signers will co-sign instantly based on their approval rules and expedite operations.
